A Yogi should practice Hatha Yoga in a secluded place. Then it is easier to choose whether to practice Yoga separately from religion, in the context of religion, or with no religion at all. Yogi Swatmarama now explains the Hatha Yoga. Once the yogi has cleaned the energy channels through his yoga practice, he is able to direct the energy (to do Raja Yoga, Kundalini Yoga). We can overwhelm ourselves and work too hard and have no energy left for happiness. Something you feel or think about in a strong way can work wonders when it comes to staying awake during Yoga Nidra. Whenever you feel overwhelmed during the yoga practices, whether it is Yoga Nidra or not, or even if it is in your everyday life, you should think about your happy place and recenter yourself. Does your fourth finger feel funny? Feel any other sensations that may be going through your body. Your happy place may be an imaginary space, a real place, a person, or simply a state of being.
